Terms of Service

Effective date: September 10, 2026 · Last updated: October 19, 2026

These Terms govern your use of Chetly (chetly.io), a product of Flandle Technologies Ltd ("Flandle", "we", "us"). By creating a tip page, sending a tip, or otherwise using Chetly, you agree to these Terms.

1. What Chetly Is

Chetly lets creators, professionals, and individuals set up a tip page so people can send them appreciation payments, tips, or gifts. Flandle's Chetly doesn't hold funds. Every tip is collected and processed by Nomba, our licensed payment processing partner, and paid out automatically to the recipient's own verified bank account, one tip at a time.

Chetly is built for voluntary, personal payments between people, not for collecting payment for goods or services on behalf of a business. If you're a business looking to accept commercial payments, Chetly isn't the right tool for that.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to receive payouts through Chetly. Chetly accounts are for individuals, whether you're a content creator, a professional, or anyone else receiving personal tips, not for registered businesses or corporate entities. You're responsible for providing accurate information during signup and keeping it up to date.

3. Recipient Accounts and Verification

  • Chetly is open to individuals, including content creators and professionals, receiving personal tips or appreciation payments. It is not for businesses collecting payment for goods or services.
  • You can set up your tip page first, but before it goes live and can receive tips, you must verify your identity using your BVN, and your payout bank account must be held in your own verified name, as an individual, not a business or corporate account.
  • If your bank account name doesn't match your verified identity, your payout may be held pending review.
  • You're responsible for the accuracy of your tip page content and for making sure it doesn't violate these Terms or Nigerian law.

4. Fees

Chetly charges 3.5% + ₦20 per tip received. The person sending the tip can choose to cover this fee so the recipient receives the full amount; otherwise it is deducted from the tip. The minimum tip is ₦1,000. There is no fee for the payout to your bank account, and no monthly, setup, or hidden fees. Fees may change with notice on the site.

5. Prohibited Use

You may not use Chetly to:

  • Receive payment for goods or services, or otherwise use Chetly as a checkout, invoicing, or commercial payment collection tool
  • Receive payment for illegal goods or services
  • Move funds between accounts you control to disguise the source of money (structuring)
  • Impersonate another person or misrepresent who is receiving the tip
  • Circumvent our identity verification or transaction limits
  • Use the platform for any activity that violates Nigerian AML/CFT law or NDPA

We reserve the right to pause payouts or close an account where we reasonably suspect any of the above, and to report suspicious activity as required by law.

6. Transaction Limits

While Chetly operates on a pass-through, non-custodial basis, we apply transaction limits to manage risk. Current limits are shown in your dashboard and may be adjusted as your account history builds or as required by our processing partner.

7. Payouts and Anonymous Tips

Payouts are usually completed within minutes of a tip, but can be delayed by bank or network downtime. A payout that doesn't go through is retried automatically, and your dashboard shows each tip's status with a bank reference.

Anyone sending a tip can choose to tip anonymously, which hides their name from the recipient. Chetly still receives the name, bank and account number of the paying account from Nomba, and keeps them to prevent fraud and meet legal obligations, as described in our Privacy Policy.

8. Tips Are Not Refundable

Tips are voluntary payments from a fan to a creator and are generally non-refundable once sent, except where required by law or where a transaction is found to be fraudulent or made in error, in which case we'll work with Nomba to resolve it.

9. No Guarantee of Income

Chetly is a tool, not a guarantee of earnings. How much you receive depends entirely on your own audience.

10. Our Role and Liability

Chetly acts as a technology layer connecting fans and creators, initiating payouts through Nomba's infrastructure. We are not a bank and do not hold a payment services licence. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Flandle is not liable for delays or failures caused by Nomba, your bank, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.

11. Account Suspension

We may suspend or close a Chetly account that violates these Terms, is linked to suspicious activity, or fails identity verification, with or without notice depending on the severity of the issue.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms as Chetly evolves. We'll update the date above when we do, and material changes will be communicated on the site.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
